MEAK Eye Missions in 2010

January Kakuma, near the Sudanese border.
Dee and the team arrived and were soon in business. Each day they took vehicles hundreds of miles in all directions collecting blind people who would otherwise have been unable to attend the hospital. By the end of the mission they had seen 553 people and carried out 199 operations.

February also saw MEAK carry out three further missions at Taita Hills where we saw 706 patients and performed 116 surgeries.

This was followed by two one-day missions in co-operation with the Lions First Sight Hospital at Ukambani and Kilome, where we completed 20 and 43 surgeries respectively.

We think that our donors and supporters will agree that returning vision to a total of 378 people during these two months represents a very worthwhile return on funds and effort expended.
